For years, researchers have gathered data from people with a lived experience of an issue, a condition, a disability or an illness. Now, thanks to a focus on PPI (Public and Patient Involvement), people are getting involved in the planning, design, delivery and dissemination of research. But what does all of this PPI mean for people from the LGBTQI+ community? When we come to the research table, are our voices heard, understood and valued?Join us for a panel discussion exploring how we can bring a queer eye to PPI.
Panellists
Ellen Conlon, Research Officer in the NGO Sector and HIV Activist (she/her)
Claire Farrell, Gender Recognition Rights Campaigner (she/her)
Sean Vail, Advocate for Rural LGBTQI+ Issues (he/him)
Facilitated by Michael Foley, Trinity PPI Ignite Office (he/him)
Pride in Research is sponsored by the TCD Equality Fund. Queer Eye for the PPI is supported by Trinity PPI Ignite Office which is funded by the Health Research Board and Irish Research Council.
