Dr Damian Haslett
Programme Manager, PPI Ignite Network @ UCC
Dr Damian Haslett is the Programme Manager of PPI Ignite Network@ UCC, replacing Dr Emmy Racine who is currently on maternity leave.
Damian’s research background has combined thinking from psychology and critical disability studies with a focus on sport, disability, and social activism. He has worked on a variety of collaborative projects including research underpinned by emancipatory participatory principles and values.
Damian works with Dr Carol Kelleher to co-lead work package 2, which is focussed on embedding PPI scholarship into undergraduate and postgraduate education. Within UCC level, Damian plays a key role in supporting and building capacity for high-quality PPI within UCC and amongst wider society, and embedding PPI into institutional policies and practices. He organises and coordinates the work of the PPI Ignite Network@ UCC Steering Committee, Local Partner Committee, Public Advisory Panel and UCC Working Group which is comprised of over 40 individuals from across the University who share an interest in PPI in research.
