What is the research about?
The ELEVATE Cerebral Palsy Research Programme is a five-year programme that aims to improve the prevention, detection and treatment of early brain injury and cerebral palsy (CP) in Ireland. ELEVATE has been funded under the Research Ireland (Formerly SFI) Strategic Partnership Programme, with co-funding partner The Cerebral Palsy Foundation (CPF). The programme is led by the Irish Centre for Maternal and Child Health Research (INFANT) at UCC, partnering with RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and all the tertiary-level maternity hospitals in Ireland.
Who is this opportunity for?
We are currently looking for up to 50 PPI contributors to take part in our national PPI panel. We are looking for adults 18+ from across Ireland who have cerebral palsy, are parents of a child with cerebral palsy, are a sibling of someone with cerebral palsy.
What will PPI contributors do?
PPI contributors will sit on this panel and will be contacted as PPI opportunities come up throughout the project, this may include but not be limited to sitting on various steering committees, reviewing research material, reviewing research data, getting involved with the dissemination of research, presenting at conferences and events, helping to develop education and public engagement materials.

Time
Time commitment:
Meeting frequency and format will vary depending on the part of the project you are asked to provide PPI for. We would aim for meetings to be no more frequent than every 6 weeks. Whilst we envisage that many of our meetings will be on-line, we will aim to also have in-persons meetings if the group is agreeable. Each meeting will last approximately 1-1.5 hours. In-person meetings will be longer and will include breaks and meals.
Contact between meetings:
Email/texts depending on the communication method chosen will be sent to alert the memebrs of an upcoming meeting and to forward an agenda and necessary materials.
Length of involvement:
This is a 5 year programme, PPI contributors will be asked to firstly commit to 12 months but will have the option to recommit at the end of the 12 months.
