As part of the national PPI Ignite Festival, promoting Public Patient Involvement (PPI), the School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin and Trinity PPI Ignite Office are hosting a series of “Conversation Cafés: Brain and Mental Health”. The events are designed to bring Academics, the Public and Patient Advocates together who share a common passion for advancing research which will impact on improved policies, therapies and supports for brain and mental health. In this interactive Conversation Café on “Novel treatments for severe depression” we want to hear the voices of families, patient advocates, mental health professionals, researchers, health care and service providers and policy makers and those with an interest in severe depression.
The event will comprise several interesting snapshots about research and developments in a variety of areas that are relevant to all stakeholders, along with the perspective of the lived experience on the value and impact of research. The format will be structured around a panel of speakers on a series of topics followed by round table discussions. The intention is that all participants will be involved in setting the future agenda around future research questions, health policy and treatments in the area of severe depression.
