Why this matters:
Some groups of people have historically been, and continue to be, underserved in clinical trials and clinical research in general. This means we have less evidence about what care and treatment works, and what doesn't, for these groups.
This workshop aims to build awareness of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles in clinical trials, build bridges of trust between practitioners, researchers, people with MS and the public, and reinforce evidence-informed EDI as a core facet of good trial design.
Who should attend:
The workshop is open to all, and would be of particular interest to:
- Researchers, practitioners and PhD/postgraduate students, especially those with an interest in MS, clinical trials, or EDI.
- People with MS or other neurological conditions.
- Anyone currently participating in, or who has participated in, a clinical trial.
- Members of the public who want to learn more about EDI, clinical trials or MS.
On the day:
The programme includes talks from researchers and lived-experience speakers, a PPI panel discussion, and parallel interactive workshops (in-person and online) on breaking down barriers to trial participation. Full programme attached.
