In this session Laura Jacobs and Bec Hanley will talk about why they think it’s important to involve patients and carers in lab-based research, the practical guidance that was developed to help researchers to do this, and some examples of involvement in this type of research.
We hope people who come to the session will join us in exploring some of the challenges of patient and public involvement in lab-based research, as well as the benefits.
The guidance on public involvement in lab-based research was developed as part of an innovative project run by University College London Hospitals Biomedical Research Centre (UCLH BRC), Alzheimer’s Society and Parkinson’s UK, in partnership with patients and researchers.
