What is the research about?

The Health Research Consent Declaration Committee is an independent statutory committee, appointed by the Minister of Health under the Health Research Regulations S.I. 314 of 2018 and as amended S.I.188 of 2019 and S.I. 18 of 2021. The HRCDC’s remit is to consider whether or not a consent declaration, or waiver, should be made for the use of personal data without explicit consent for health research, and that the public interest of carrying out the research significantly outweighs the need for explicit consent.
