: The co-design and content review of the HELP Intervention (Healing and Empowering Lives in Pain): An online chronic pain intervention integrating public and patient involvement (PPI)

Introduction

Research Area:

Chronic Pain Management in the Community

What is the research about?

This study involves the development of the HELP (Healing and Empowering Lives in Pain) intervention, a digital intervention that will be developed with persons living with pain and specifically in collaboration with the Mater Hospital pain services. The aim of the project is to support persons in pain to discover new health behaviours and empower them to regain control despite living with chronic pain. This evidence-based resource is being co-designed with persons living with pain to construct a website that can support the person in pain in a caring manner.
Who is the opportunity for?
We are looking for one PPI contributor with lived experience of pain or a family member/friend in pain to join five other PPI contributors who are already involved in the project. This person must have a background in the IT sector or in web design.
What will the PPI contributor do?
The PPI contributor will assist in reviewing the website prototype. They will be asked to review this website and to complete a form giving their impression. This will be followed by a one hour zoom meeting as a follow up for you to give detailed feedback on your assessment of the website. We will provide monthly updates on the progress of this stage of the project to PPI contributors until its completion in May 2025.
