Prof. Veronica Lambert
Academic Co-Lead
Veronica Lambert, PhD, BNS (Hons), RGN, RCN, is Full Professor of Children and Family Nursing at Dublin City University and co-lead for the Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Ignite Network at Dublin City University. Prof Lambert co-leads work package 1, focused on building capacity for PPI across communities, and contributes to all work packages through the Public and Patient Involvement Ignite Network Steering Committee. She has been involved with PPI Ignite since 2018 as lead for DCU PPI Ignite (2018-2021) and DCU site lead for the development of the PPI Ignite Network.
Prof Lambert leads an interdisciplinary research programme on Children and Family Focused Research with national and international collaborators from academia, clinical and community contexts. Her research predominately focuses on understanding children and family experiences particularly in the context of children and family healthcare communication, children and family shared self-management of chronic/long-term conditions, psychosocial wellbeing and impact of illness on children and the family. Other research interests include: paediatric early warning systems, virtual reality distraction, and integrated person-centred care.
Arthur Templeman-Lilley
PPI Co-Lead
Arthur Templeman-Lilley is a children’s rights advocate and youth participation practitioner based in Wales, entering the final year of his Social Sciences degree at The Open University. His work focuses on youth participation in research, bringing young people’s perspectives into research spaces and supporting researchers to engage meaningfully with children and young people.
He has worked with organisations including UNICEF, Children in Wales and the Diana Award to help embed youth voice into operations and strategy. Arthur has recently joined the PPI Ignite Network@ DCU as Public and Patient Involvement Co-Lead, with a focus on children and young people.
Dr. Damian Haslett
Programme Manager
Dr. Damian Haslett (PhD, MSc, BSc (Hons)) is the DCU Programme Manager for the National PPI Ignite Network. His work focuses on strengthening the quality, impact, and systemic embedding of PPI in health and social care research at DCU. Damian holds a PhD in Disability Studies from Durham University.
Before joining DCU, he worked as Senior Research Officer at the National Disability Authority, leading and managing research to inform Government policy. His wider research focuses on participatory approaches, disability studies, and the relationship between evidence, policy and lived experience.
