Dr Payam Sheikhattari

International Collaboration for Participatory Health Research

Dr. Payam Sheikhattari is a tenured professor of Public Health at Morgan State University, School of Community Health and Policy (SCHP) and the Director of the Prevention Sciences Research Center (PSRC). Since 2005, he has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI of the National Institute of Health (NIH) funded research projects. Dr. Sheikhattari obtained his MD and MPH from Uromia and Tehran Universities in Iran, and has over two decades of experience working with national and international community-based health projects. He received further training as a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from 2003-2005. His research areas are community-based participatory research, nicotine dependence, and biomedical research.
