Tinnitus can feel lonely and intimidating. People with tinnitus tend to fixate on the sound and everything else can feel like a blur. Creative activities like singing and making poetry can help people direct their attention away from the sound and bring them more in contact with the environment. The sense of community that people feel in creating a collaborative piece can be powerful in building confidence and battling isolation. During the PPI Ignite Festival, we invite people with tinnitus to join us in creating a chorus that can bring out the communal voice of tinnitus. The words and tune for the chorus will be co-created and facilitated by Poetry Ireland and Sing Ireland.
This is an in-person event. It will be held in the Samuel Beckett Dance Studio, on the top floor of Samuel Beckett Theatre, Trinity College Dublin. It is accessible via a lift and stairs.
