What is the research about?
We are currently looking for patients, relatives/carers and members of the public to join their Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Group. The Group meets to bring their lived experience and voice to cancer care research in West/ North West of Ireland.
Researchers at Saolta/University of Galway, along with collaborators, are currently conducting a number of research projects aimed at reducing the burden of cancer treatment and improving quality-of-life for patients living with cancer. These projects investigate:
– New and less invasive approaches to cancer treatment
– Improving care for patients experiencing toxic effects of cancer treatment
– Improving care pathways and support for patients during and after cancer treatment
The PPI group will meet quarterly, discussing specific aspects of different ongoing projects. There may also be additional (optional) opportunities for group members to work more closely with a research team on a specific project.
