Communicating our way

This aim of this resource is to encourage teams to consider using creative methods to facilitate the involvement of PPI contributors in sharing research results (dissemination). In this example, the HRB Primary Care CTNI PPI group were invited to present about their PPI work at a conference. The group decided that the format of their contribution would be in song.

Using a flexible brainstorming technique, the members identified the key messages they wanted to share. Denis Mockler, a Galway signer-songwriter who is a member of the group, then wrote the lyrics and music for a song and the PPI group reviewed and approved it. Denis performed the song at the PPI in Research conference in Galway.
